QUESTION: What is the relationship between ppm and sec? How accurate is a clock in sec, if it has 50ppm resolution? What is the accuracy of the clock in sec in one day?

ANSWER: An accuracy of 50 ppm (parts per million) translates to an accuracy (or movement) of 50 micro-seconds every second. This is equivalent to 3 millisecond per minute; 180 millisec per hour; or 4.32 seconds per day. Thus if your wrist-watch has an internal ocillator with frequency accuracy of 50 ppm, then it will lose (or gain) as much as 4.32 seconds every day.
